As a main NDT technique that was used in the system, the Acoustic Emission events can be matched witch each other and the specific location of the burst origin can be detected. The AcumenSolution system supports AE triangulation and presents the outcome as a two-dimensional map with cumulated AE events. This gives the Asset Operator a comprehensive image of the RoI, which can identify potential crack, leak or other defects.
The AcumenSolution has introduced an innovative algorithm that can map acoustic emission (AE) events onto a 3D Model to help the user correctly identifying the location of the defect or RoI (Region of Interest) on a real asset. This gives the Asset Operator several advantages such as supporting the process of identifying areas that should be repaired by the maintenance team.
